Freshly Milled Grains
We were thrilled to find family-owned businesses in Virginia where you can get grains milled fresh the old-fashioned way. Wades Mill’s and Montebello Kitchen’s grains are two that we are happy to carry, and their products are delicious.
We love polenta covered with a mushroom ragout for dinner, and fried with eggs and maple syrup for breakfast. (Did we mention we carry Virginia maple syrup?) And then there are the grits -- white and yellow -- with butter and a poached egg. Or make bread with freshly ground semolina flour, add some oats and taste the difference!
